The HP MediaSmart Server LX195 is an easy-to-use server specifically designed for sharing and managing all your digital media files. It can automatically backup all of your PCs on a daily basis to protect against a data loss disaster.

Once you connect the MediaSmart Server to the desktops and laptops in your home using a WiFi router, anyone using these computers will have easy access to your collection of photos, songs and videos, as well as any other files stored on the server. Media that is loaded onto your PCs is automatically added to the LX195 server. Files stored on the server can be accessed from any computer in the world through a web browser.

The LX195 comes with a 640GB internal hard drive which more than enough for the average media collection. However, the server also has four USB ports to connect external drives for additional storage capacity. The server can connect with up to 10 PCs or Macs at a time.

Design

The MediaSmart Server LX195 is small enough to fit on a bookshelf or under your desk, measuring 8.0″ x 3.9″ x 8.2″. It has a modern design and a black finish. On the front of the home server are three lights that indicate the power status, disk activity and system health status.

On the back of the server are the power button and four USB ports. The ethernet port for connecting the server to your home network is also located on the back.
